Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.
Forensicare is situated across five sites across Victoria with its largest site being Thomas Embling Hospital, located in Fairfield just 15 minutes north of the Melbourne city centre.Thomas Embling Hospital is a 136-bed secure hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation and continuing care programs. It includes a dedicated women's unit.
**About the Role**:
The Ward Clerk Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and coordination of administrative services for the inpatient units at Thomas Embling Hospital. Ward Clerk Coordinator will work closely with
- Ward Clerks,
- Unit Managers,
- Inpatient Operations Managers,
- Inpatient Health Information Manager,
- And other members of the administrative, management and staffing teams
**Duties**:
- Oversee Ward Clerks' workloads and coordinate planned and unplanned leave arrangements in conjunction with applicable Unit Manager to ensure adequate coverage of all Units
- Assist Unit Managers in conducting performance management reviews, including performance monitoring, and providing feedback
- Attend inpatient operations meetings as required
- Ensure high quality administrative service that supports the delivery of inpatient services at all units
- Ensure ward clerks provide timely response to administrative requests from the inpatient units
- Ensure timely running of courts scheduling and Forensic Leave Panel coordination operations
**About You**:
- You are highly organised and efficient, with experience in providing administrative support in a health or mental health setting.
- You have previous experience in supervising and coordinating a team of ward clerks.
- You have excellent IT skills, proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and a working knowledge of CMI (statewide mental health database).
- You have the ability to relate sensitively and professionally with patients and can work with limited supervision.
- You are a good communicator and work effectively in a team.
