Position Overview:
Bhangu Bros Pty Ltd T/A Earth Design Landscaping – a Melbourne-area landscaping business dedicated to high-quality garden construction, softscape and hardscape solutions, and customer-centric design and build services. As a Landscape Gardener at Earth Design Landscaping, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end garden construction, from site preparation and installation to plantings and hardscape features. This position requires a strong horticultural background, hands-on construction experience and a real pride in creating beautiful outdoor spaces.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
* Prepare site areas for landscape construction, including clearing debris, levelling, top-soil spreading and turf installation.
* Propagate and plant trees, bushes, hedges, flowers and bulbs in line with landscape design plans.
* Select materials and plants, prepare drawings or sketches as required, and schedule landscape construction tasks in liaison with project managers.
* Set out and install hardscape and softscape structures such as paving, gravel areas, walls, fences, pergolas, garden furniture and ponds.
* Maintain planted and grassed areas by weeding, trimming, fertilising, watering and mowing to uphold quality standards.
* Prune trees and hedges, install plant support or protection devices, and assess plant condition to determine treatment or replacement needs.
* Construct irrigation components or assist with irrigation installation to support efficient garden operation.
* Carry out maintaining and repairing of gardening/construction equipment, ensure safe and tidy site operations, and collaborate with the team to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Relevant qualification.
* Minimum 1 year experience as a Landscape Gardener
* Strong horticultural knowledge including plant selection, propagation and maintenance.
* Proven ability in hardscape construction (paving, walls, pergolas) and softscape installation.
* Good reading of drawings or garden plans, and the ability to translate them into executed landscape works.
* Ability to work safely, in a team environment and deliver high-quality workmanship under time and budget constraints.
Salary:
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $80,000 – $90,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
