With significant company investment and growth, the invention of new products and manufacturing technology will offer our wind sensors' unique strengths to meteorology, marine and defence customers.Located in Sunbury-on-Thames, UK (Hybrid optional)40 hours per week (Flexi-time)Please note:Candidates will be required to undergo a background and reference check as part of the hiring process.Main tasks and responsibilitiesDesignDesign, development, test and documentation of analogue, digital, and mixed-signal electronic circuits and PCBs.Write requirements, system, design, test, and technical specifications from inputs received from Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or Sales.Create dFMEA for electronics design and support dFMEA for related disciplines.Support product design, system integration, system verification, dFMEA & pFMEA, product validation and handover to production with other Engineering team members.Support management and other departments in contact with customers.Within the remit of product history knowledge, investigate and resolve faults on returned products that are provided to Engineering for troubleshooting.ResearchContribute to the conceptual stage of research, design and development.Apply problem-solving approaches and engineering theory to project challenges.Specify, develop and evaluate novel circuit designs to demonstrate the technological feasibility of engineering solutions.Work with colleagues in embedded software, mechanical design, acoustics, aerodynamics, and other disciplines to assess the impact of electronics design on system performance.Project ManagementProject manage and deliver specific NPD projects (or sub-projects) led by the electronics design team.Provide estimates and progress reports on work breakdown structures, tasks and timelines for self-managed and NPD projects.Provide advice and guidance on electronics project management to other and junior engineers as required.Quality ControlEnsure quality control of the electronics development cycle through documentation, reviews, verification, validation, change and configuration management with Altium ECAD & Windchill PLM.Support the quality control and continuous improvement of released PCBAs and products to meet customer requirements and deadlines.Seek to continuously improve the development guidelines and design control of the electronics design and development process.Other DutiesAttend relevant training identified to ensure duties are performed efficiently.Comply with the company's equal opportunities and health and safety policies.Other duties may be requested on occasion in line with the remit of the role.Skills, Abilities and Experience (Essential)A degree in Electronics or a related fieldIn-depth knowledge of analogue and mixed-signal electronic circuit design, including:PCB design, including schematics, preferably using AltiumInterface circuit design and micrcontroller & FPGA interfaces e.g., I2C, SPI & asynchronous protocolsAnalogue circuit design for data acquisition and processingDigital and analogue filteringKnowledge of power management and circuit design theoryUnderstanding of research and development methodologies for high-technology manufactured productsPersonal QualitiesExcellent analytical & problem-solving approachGood communication, both verbal and writtenConscientious and focusedCapacity to develop ga ood understanding of end-user requirementsGood team player, able to work cross-functionally across departmentsComfortable working under time constraints to meet agreed deadlinesWhy work with us?
