Are you a motivated Registered Nurse or Midwife who is ready to lead a positive safety culture in ACT Public Health services?
Sitting within the ACT Health’s Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office, the Towards a Safer Culture ‘The Next Steps’ Strategy is seeking a motivated, innovative Registered Nurse or Midwife to join a small team that is committed to embedding a positive safety culture in ACT Public Health services. Responsible for the provision of professional and strategic leadership, the Registered Nurse level 4.3 will use their high-level project management skills and in-depth knowledge of the clinical environment to provide health system advice and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional and strategic leadership within ACT Public Health services as part of the Towards a Safer Culture ‘The Next Steps’ Strategy.
- Use high-level project management skills and in-depth knowledge of the clinical setting to provide health system advice and leadership.
- Lead key deliverables of the project, liaise with stakeholders, and ensure governance and reporting requirements are met.
- Contribute to embedding a positive culture of safety, with a focus on the Safewards Model of Care, clinical supervision, occupational violence mitigation, and community awareness campaigns.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- Registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions or notations.
- Postgraduate qualification or working towards a postgraduate qualification related to nursing and/or midwifery.
Notes
This is a temporary position available until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. A merit pool may be established from this selection process to be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. This position’s workplace is designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers do not have a designated workstation/desk.
