About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or secondary school mathematics teacher to refresh their mathematical skills and re-engage with the discipline at the tertiary level. Key Responsibilities Will Include
Teaching
* Teach, facilitate, and examine undergraduate, honours, and/or postgraduate coursework students in Mathematics.
* Contribute to the curriculum through preparation of teaching materials and assessment.
* Provide high-quality service to students, including academic consultation and advice.
* Gather evidence of teaching effectiveness to improve the quality of courses and teaching and engage in professional development to enhance teaching effectiveness.
* Understand and apply University rules relevant to teaching and learning practice.
In Addition To The Above, At Level B Will
* Engage in educational collaborations to document and disseminate good teaching practices in the School.

About You
Academic Level A
Applicants should have completed a degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Education (majoring in Mathematics/Statistics).
* Evidence of high-quality Mathematics and/or Statistics teaching at a senior secondary level.
* An emerging teaching profile in Mathematics/Statistics with evidence of impact on student learning.
* Participation in activities to develop teaching expertise in the discipline.
* Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in teaching and learning.
Academic Level B
Applicants should have completed a degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Education (majoring in Mathematics/Statistics), preferably a PhD in Mathematics/Statistics or Education.
* Evidence of high-quality Mathematics/Statistics teaching at a senior secondary level across a variety of settings.
* Significant resource development experience at the senior secondary and/or tertiary level.
* An emerging profile of teaching impact in the discipline and/or emerging profile in education research in the discipline and/or emerging research profile with high-quality outputs in the discipline.
* Participation in projects that improve curriculum, pedagogy, or assessment practices of others
* Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in teaching and learning.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia and education check.

About The Selection Process
As part of the Selection Process, applicants shortlisted for interview will be required to present a mock lecture to members of the School community prior to their scheduled interview. The lecture topic will be provided in advance to shortlisted candidates and will be 25 minutes, plus questions. Please note that the mock lectures and interviews are likely to occur in the week starting 6 October 2025.
