This vacancy is maternity leave relief for an initial period of up to 52 weeks; the hours and period of employment may change according to the maternity leave requirements. There is also the possibility of an extension at same / reduced hours.
About the role
Lismore Base Hospital Ward F10 (General Surgery/Orthopaedics) is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager Level 2 to join the team.
This role is responsible for the effective management of nursing and other relevant staff, ensuring the coordination and delivery of high-quality nursing care within the ward.
The Nurse Unit Manager provides strong leadership to the nursing team, promotes effective communication and collaboration between all health professionals, and oversees environmental and workplace health and safety management to maintain a safe and supportive care environment.
Clinician engagement and leadership remain central to the public health system, with clinician-led standards, safety, and quality improvements a major focus. The Local Health District is dedicated to strengthening the involvement of staff who deliver direct patient care, ensuring they play an active role in the planning, delivery, improvement, and evaluation of health services. This position offers the opportunity to be part of that vision and contribute to meaningful improvements in patient care and service delivery.
