Youth Support Professional
This role involves providing supervision and support to young people subject to a youth justice intervention.
* It is essential to demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability, ensuring an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* The successful candidate will provide supervision and support to young people in accordance with relevant legislative provisions, strategic priorities, statutory delegations, departmental policies, procedures, and contemporary best practice.
* Support will be provided to the Program Coordinator in relation to the maintenance of services for young people subject to youth justice interventions.
* Supervision and support will be given to young people to assist with their compliance with court orders and reintegration into the community in accordance with the case plan.
* Negotiations will be made with other Government and community agencies on behalf of young people to enhance their access to services in accordance with the case plan.
* Records of program attendance and reports will be maintained to assist case planning and reviews, and meetings will be attended as required.
This position requires a strong understanding of cultural safety principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
