LIFE UNDER THE PALMS…
As a Junior Creative at Two Palms Media, you're an emerging creative with a strong eye for storytelling, pacing, and social-first execution. Your role is primarily focused on hands-on editing – editing, versioning, refining, and preparing social-first content – with opportunities to grow into broader creative and shooting work, with mentoring from our Senior Creatives & Executive Creative Director.
You work closely with Senior Creatives, Editors, and Producers to help turn concepts into high-performing social content. You're hands-on, organised, and eager to improve your craft. You're confident in the fundamentals of editing, comfortable working across different formats and deliverables, and keen to learn how great creative is shaped, refined, and elevated.
Our expectations of our Junior Creative
You're expected to bring a solid foundation in editing already. You don't need to know everything, but you should be comfortable inside editing software, understand timelines, pacing, basic sound and colour, and know how to turn raw footage into a polished social asset.
You care about the details. You ask questions when unsure, take feedback easily, and apply it quickly. You work closely with more senior editors and creatives to learn how work is elevated from "good" to "great" – building speed, confidence, and consistency with every project.
You're also willing to jump on shoots and help capture content from early on, in an ambition to develop your shooting capabilities over time, and contribute to ideation sessions to learn and unlock how to flex your creative ideation muscle.
The Bread & Butter of being our Junior Creative
Editing & Post-Production (Core Focus)
* Edit social-first video content across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and paid social.
* Cut, version, resize, and adapt content across multiple formats and platforms.
* Assist in shaping narratives, pacing, structure, and timing to make content engaging and scroll-stopping.
* Apply basic colour correction, sound clean-up, subtitles, and visual polish to deliver platform-ready assets.
* Support Senior Editors with larger or more complex edits and campaign content.
* Maintain clean timelines, organised projects, and good file hygiene.
Creative Execution & Visual Craft
* Support the execution of creative ideas primarily through editing, and occasionally through basic shooting.
* Assist in translating concepts into strong visual outcomes, not just technically correct ones.
* Develop storytelling instincts through hands-on editing, feedback, and iteration.
* Occasionally support on set with filming, asset capture, or general production assistance.
Creative Tools & Technical Foundation
* Work primarily in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with working knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign.
* Build confidence in workflows across ingest, edit, review, revisions, and delivery.
* Develop your understanding of colour, sound, typography, captions, and platform-safe exports.
* Learn best-practice post-production workflows and file management across the team.
Social & Platform Fluency
* Understand the differences between TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and paid social – and how edits should adapt for each.
* Stay curious about editing trends, transitions, formats, and storytelling styles that perform in-feed.
* Help bring platform-native thinking into how content is cut, not just how it's shot.
Junior Creative Growth & Input
* Contribute ideas for edits, transitions, formats, and creative approaches.
* Participate in brainstorms and creative sessions with a practical, execution-first mindset.
* Bring references, inspiration, and examples that can improve how we cut and finish work.
Project & Workflow Support
* Manage multiple edits and tasks across different projects at once.
* Hit deadlines in a fast-paced, feedback-heavy environment.
* Keep projects, files, and exports organised and clearly labelled.
Collaboration & Team Culture
* Work closely with Senior Creatives, Editors, and Producers to deliver strong outcomes.
* Be open to feedback, direction, and iteration – and improve quickly because of it.
* Bring a positive, proactive, solutions-focused attitude to the team.
Client & Brand Understanding
* Learn how different brands show up visually and tonally in social.
* Apply brand guidelines and platform rules to your edits.
* Understand how creative decisions connect to strategy, performance, and audience response.
