The Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager, Education & Training, the Technical Manager, Education & Training plays a vital role in managing technical activities across different grain commodities and supporting development and delivery of technical extension, training and education programs for customers of Australian grains.
As a key link between technical extension, market support and laboratory management, the focus will be on providing evidence, analysis and advice to enhance the value proposition of Australian grains and support strategic priorities. The Technical Manager will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective solutions that are aligned with Grains Australia's goals.
This opportunity provides a platform for career development within the organisation, with some domestic and international travel required to support market activities and technical extension. The manager is also responsible for the management of two direct reports.
About You
* Experience in quality testing, cereal chemistry, field trials and/or laboratory work
* Previous team management experience – or the aspiration to develop in this area
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
* Knowledge of the Australian grains industry – highly desirable
* Tertiary qualifications in Science, Food Technology, Agriculture or a related discipline
* Self‐motivated, adaptable and willing to travel as part of the position
