The primary responsibilities for this position are to assess a wide range of planning and design submissions and provide technical responses against design standards, codes, guidelines and policies, particularly on landscape elements, within given timeframes. This includes liaison with various Government entities and private consultants. This role will be a suitably qualified Landscape Architect and requires a person who can inspire, energise and positively influence team and individual outcomes. The role, whilst not a supervisory role, may at times include supervising, managing and motivating a small team and providing appropriate support and guidance. This position requires a strong team player with an outcomes focused attitude to assist in successfully delivering consistent and positive outcomes for both TCCS and a desire to achieve customer service excellence. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work autonomously in an activity-based working (ABW) environment and remain focused on timely delivery of assessments and strive to foster positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Assess a wide range of landscape and open space related planning and design submissions and provide technical responses against TCCS Municipal Infrastructure Standards and Municipal Infrastructure Technical Specification and other relevant codes, guidelines and policies, within given timeframes and ensure appropriate consideration of asset owner requirements and expectations. This includes liaison with various Government entities and private consultants and developers. Under supervision, review documentation as submitted for design review, soft landscape consolidation, soft landscape handover and Operational Acceptance and Final Acceptance and oversee the assessment and inspection for accepting soft and hard landscape municipal infrastructure assets that are built as part of subdivision and infill developments in the ACT and coordinate/raise issues to project owners or representatives and coordinate internal business unit participation in these processes, including ongoing defect management within specific periods. Ensure all landscape design, consolidation and handover documentation is submitted, stored and/or distributed to Asset Data Integration and the operational areas who will be responsible for the ongoing management and maintenance of the asset. This includes but is not limited to works As Executed drawings, Asset Data Forms, summary drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, keys and access codes. Provide technical and specialised input into the development/enhancement of the Municipal Infrastructure Standards and Specifications relating to landscape works and other agency guidelines affecting asset acceptance. Adhere to the TCCS Code of Practice, values and behaviours and the Respect, Equity and Diversity (RED) framework ensuring professional conduct and confidentiality is maintained at all times; ensure compliance with TCCS policies, procedures, systems and processes; ensure that Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles are understood and adhered to across the business unit. This position may involve direct supervision of staff. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Professional / Technical Skills Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or Hold a relevant building degree or have significant building or Infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience. Compliance Requirements / Qualifications Driver’s licence (C-Class) is essential. This position does not require a pre-employment medical. Visa holders are eligible to apply for both permanent and temporary roles. Those with eligible visas may be considered for permanent employment, while individuals with temporary residency or limited-duration visas may be offered permanent employment for the duration of their visas. To be eligible to apply for this role, you must be an Australian citizen. Visa holders can now apply for and be appointed to permanent positions in the ACTPS. However, there are some roles where Australian citizenship will remain mandatory due to other authorising frameworks (e.g. some roles regulating ACT road transport legislation and some AGSVA security clearances). This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check. Notes: This is a temporary position available from 27 October 2025 for a period of 12 months with the possibility of permanency.
