About the Role As a Bricklayer, you will lay bricks, pre-cut stone, and other types of building blocks in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches, and other structures. Working across architecturally complex and high-end residential projects, you will bring precision and attention to detail to every course you lay. Key Duties & Responsibilities Studying plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, and installation procedures Erecting and dismantling restricted-height scaffolding Sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials and spreading layers of mortar to serve as base and binder for blocks using trowels Laying bricks in rows, designs, and shapes, and spreading mortar between joints Embedding blocks in mortar and removing excess mortar Checking vertical and horizontal alignment Cutting, shaping, and polishing stones and bricks using machines and hand tools, and shaping bricks to fit irregular spaces Executing detailed and architectural brickwork to exacting quality standards on high-end residential and commercial projects Conducting quality checks on completed work Requirements AQF Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying (CPC33020) with 1 year of experience in bricklaying Demonstrated experience in residential, architectural, or commercial bricklaying Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and building specifications High attention to detail with a commitment to clean lines and quality finishes White Card (Construction Induction) — mandatory Valid driver's licence — required for travel to project sites Registration or licensing may be required
