About The Role
The Marketing and Communications Officer leads the development, delivery, and optimisation of Allambi Care's communications, marketing, staff engagement, and government relations strategies.
This role is responsible for elevating Allambi's visibility, strengthening relationships with carers, staff, clients, community partners, and government stakeholders, and driving high-impact storytelling that reflects the organisation's mission, values, and strategic priorities.
The position oversees integrated marketing and communication functions, supports organisational growth, ensures brand consistency, manages key recruitment campaigns, and contributes to a connected and engaged workforce culture. The Coordinator works in close collaboration with the broader Partnerships, Engagement and Innovation team, and internal leaders to deliver high-quality, strategic, and measurable outcomes across all communication and marketing touchpoints.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Planning
Lead the development and implementation of integrated strategies for communications, marketing, staff engagement, and government relations.
Oversee annual planning, including facilitating workshops across service areas to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
Provide strategic direction for brand positioning, messaging, and external engagement.
Streamline operations, processes, and systems to ensure best-practice marketing and communication delivery.
Communications, Marketing & Digital Strategy
Lead the creation of high-quality written, visual, and digital content for internal and external audiences.
Support and deliver content strategy and production across digital channels, including website, social media, EDMs, and multimedia storytelling (in conjunction with the Manager – Partnerships, Engagement and Innovation).
Oversee website content accuracy, user experience, and optimisation.
Manage and optimise HubSpot, ensuring effective CRM utilisation and reporting.
Oversee media buying, digital advertising placement/optimisation, and performance reporting for recruitment and brand campaigns.
Community, Government & Stakeholder Engagement
Strengthen relationships with carers, staff, clients, community organisations, businesses, and government agencies.
Support the delivery of community engagement initiatives, including events, sponsorships, partnerships, and outreach activities.
Drive the Community Sponsorship Strategy and identify new partnership opportunities (in collaboration with the Events Coordinator).
Represent Allambi Care at community events and key stakeholder activities.
Support development of deeper government relations channels to strengthen advocacy and visibility.
Event & Campaign Support
Oversee messaging, promotion, and communication for internal and external events including staff engagement days, carer events, expos, and recruitment initiatives.
Support the Events Coordinator in delivering high-quality event experiences and strong engagement outcomes.
Manage large-scale recruitment campaigns including planning, content, media, optimisation, and reviewing campaign analytics.
Internal Communication & Culture Building
Lead initiatives that enhance staff engagement, workforce pride, and organisational alignment across all Allambi office locations.
Manage internal communication channels including announcements, staff updates, intranet content, and leadership messaging.
Ensure consistent use of branded templates, assets, and guidelines across the organisation.
Support culture-building through storytelling and internal recognition activities.
Digital Content Creation & Support
Support the production of digital assets, photography, video content, graphic design materials, and storytelling.
Support and mentor broader Allambi Care team members in producing engaging, ethically informed digital content.
Ensure all content aligns with brand identity, cultural safety principles, and organisational policy.
Financial & Resource Management
Manage departmental budgets, ensuring responsible development, monitoring, and reporting (in collaboration with the Director).
Foster effective relationships with external suppliers, agencies, and freelancers.
Manage Allambi Care uniform process logistics and improvements.
Compliance, Ethics & Risk
Ensure all communication and marketing practices adhere to privacy, confidentiality, and ethical storytelling guidelines.
Support crisis communication planning and response processes and develop capabilities in this area.
Ensure brand, narrative, and communication consistency across the organisation.
Team Leadership
Provide day-to-day support, guidance, and prioritisation for companywide communications and engagement.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment with clear expectations and shared goals.
Essential Skills And Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in senior communications, marketing, or engagement roles.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop strategy and manage delivery.
High-level written communication with an ability to craft clear, engaging, and tailored content.
Proven experience overseeing digital marketing campaigns, analytics, and optimisation.
Experience with content creation including social media, photography, videography, and digital storytelling.
Proficiency with CMS systems, CRM platforms (preferably HubSpot), social scheduling tools, EDM platforms, and digital reporting tools.
Strong relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
Excellent organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and deadlines.
Sound understanding of ethical storytelling, privacy, and cultural safety principles.
Desirable Skills And Qualifications
Experience in community services, child and family services, or not-for-profit environments.
Knowledge of foster care, carer engagement, or youth/family support programs.
Familiarity with digital tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, SEO optimisation, and CRM reporting.
Photography or videography experience.
Existing networks or emerging capability in media relations
