Art Director
Seeking a driven and opinionated individual who is eager to create distinctive and emotionally resonant stories, characters, and spaces for a global audience.
The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members to develop and communicate clear, distinctive aesthetic directions that consider the unique aspects of both physical and virtual worlds.
Strong preference for Sydney based candidates although Melbourne based candidates can be considered.
Less interested in previous titles but strong portfolios and are open to senior designers or artists looking to step up to a role with more responsibilities and management.
They are most interested in finding a creative collaborator to deliver distinctive visual experiences.
Key Qualifications:
Ability to develop compelling visual concepts and directions from conceptual ideas.
Ability to present ideas to team members with creative rationale.
Proficiency in iterating and communicating visual directions through reference, sketches, concepts and grayboxing.
Strong knowledge of aesthetic and visual design principles.
Strong understanding of 3D and real-time pipelines.
Experience with Unreal Engine capabilities and pipelines.
An appreciation for spatial design, lighting, and architecture.
Capability to collaborate with Creative and Production leads on concept development, pitches, and production documentation.
Ability to brief and direct technical art teams and contractors effectively.
Skill in calculating and communicating timeline and resource estimations for visual directions to production management.
An interest in the personal and professional development of colleagues and juniors within the wider community through in-studio mentoring and participation in industry talks, outreach, or events.
