Permanent part-time Registered Nurse opportunity - 48 hours per fortnight at the Darwin Donor Centre in NT.
About the Role
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team at the Darwin Donor Centre. The successful candidate will have great people skills and a passion for helping others.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse with Lifeblood, you will:
* Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
* Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
* Set up machines, various tubing, and collection bags
* Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood and plasma
* Provide clinical oversight and guide other team members in the blood collection process
* Manage adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance
* Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation
Requirements and Training
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
* A current AHPRA registration
* Attend 48 hours across 7 shifts per fortnight (additional shifts may be available)
* Be available for a variety of shifts inclusive of weekends and afternoons
* Support and foster a fantastic team culture
* Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
* Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
