Offer description

Help keep Council’s finances on track by managing debt recovery and infringement processes that support essential community services. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, sound judgement and strong communication will help turn outstanding matters into practical outcomes.

What you’ll be doing
* Manage debt recovery processes, including payment arrangements, follow-up actions and escalations
* Prepare and issue correspondence for unpaid infringements and recoverable debts
* Coordinate referrals to the Monetary Penalties Enforcement Service (MPES) and collection agencies
* Review infringement appeals and prepare documentation for decision-making and enforcement actions
* Process financial transactions including invoicing, receipting, refunds and account reconciliations
* Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and service delivery
What you’ll bring
* Experience in debt recovery, accounts receivable or a similar finance administration role
* Strong attention to detail and confidence managing financial records and reconciliations
* Ability to interpret legislation, policies and procedures, or quickly learn and apply them
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally
* Great organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
