We're experiencing continued growth and are looking for an experienced Senior Town Planner to join our team in Dubbo, NSW and which is located within the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ).
This is a key senior role, combining technical planning expertise, project management, mentoring, and business development, with opportunities to work on diverse and complex projects, particularly within the renewable energy space.
About the Role:
As a Senior Town Planner, you'll play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality planning services while supporting team development and contributing to business growth.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and delivering statutory and strategic planning projects.
* Preparing high-quality planning reports, studies, and advice.
* Managing projects end‐to‐end, including budgets, timelines, client liaison, and resourcing.
* Providing technical guidance and mentoring to developing planners.
* Reviewing work to ensure technical accuracy and professional standards.
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
* Supporting business development, proposals, and fee estimates.
* Contributing to renewable energy projects including solar and BESS.
About You:
We're looking for a well-rounded senior planner who brings both technical depth and a commercial mindset.
You'll ideally have:
* A tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 8 years' post‐graduate experience in town planning and project delivery including 5+ years within the NSW or QLD Planning system.
* Strong working knowledge of statutory and strategic planning legislation.
* Experience managing projects within a professional services environment.
* Well-developed communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and stakeholders.
* A collaborative leadership style, with a passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing.
* Experience in renewable energy projects and EIS's.
* Willingness to work towards REAP accreditation (support provided).
* Relevant professional memberships (or eligibility).
