Volunteer Retail Assistant
Founded as a Christian movement, The Salvation Army is one of Australia's largest charities. The retail arm, Salvos Stores, operates over 400 stores across the country, selling pre‐loved items to raise funds for life‐changing programs.
As a Volunteer Retail Assistant you will support store operations, greet customers, handle donated goods, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment. This is a volunteer role and is not paid.

What You'll Be Doing
* Greet customers with a warm, friendly attitude to create a positive shopping experience.
* Provide clear, helpful information to answer inquiries and guide customers.
* Assist in receiving donated goods and communicate with donors as part of the Donor Care program.
* Assess condition, functionality, and suitability of donated items against production guidelines and price them accurately.
* Place priced items on the sales floor, ensuring a neat, organized presentation and supporting visual merchandising.
* Clean items, the sales floor, and staff areas regularly to maintain a tidy, safe environment.
* Follow waste management guidelines in line with sustainable practices.
* Maintain a safe environment for customers, visitors, and staff by adhering to work‐practice and safety guidelines.
* Be mindful of personal health and the health and safety of others around you.
Requirements
Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older.
