South Burnett CTC Inc is a not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged individuals of all ages and backgrounds. We provide a wide array of services, including Foster Care, Community Services, and Domestic Violence support across the South Burnett region. Our Early Years Program focuses on fostering the development of children aged 0-5 years who may be at risk of not being school-ready, utilising evidence-based tools to support both children and their families. We pride ourselves on our commitment to cultural sensitivity and community engagement.
Position Overview
The Early Years Family Support Worker will take on a pivotal role in supporting a caseload of families with young children, primarily delivering services in their homes. This position requires the development of individual case plans based on the needs of each child, utilising tools such as the ASQ Ages and Stages Questionnaire. You will work closely with parents to guide them in achieving their goals for their child while fostering an understanding of neurodiversity.
This role involves significant interaction with families, providing practical support, facilitating parenting programs, and connecting families with necessary services to enhance their child's development and wellbeing.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in early childhood education and family support, complemented by relevant qualifications and experience. We are looking for individuals who exhibit empathy, strong communication skills, and a commitment to child development.
* Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child Youth and Family, or Community Services
* Experience in early childhood education or family support
* Current Queensland Open Driver's Licence
* Ability to obtain First Aid, CPR, and Bronze Medallion Certificates
* Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check
Cultural awareness and sensitivity are crucial for this role, as is the ability to manage time effectively and maintain accurate documentation. Flexibility in working hours is essential to meet the needs of families.
Salary & Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary at Level 3 ($38.65 per hour) under the Social, Community, Home Care, and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, along with opportunities for salary packaging.
