About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and manage our NSW manufacturing and print, sign installation operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing end-to-end production, installation coordination, quality control, safety compliance and team performance within a fast-paced print and signage environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, ensuring on-time delivery, maintaining high quality standards and fostering a strong safety-first culture aligned with Australian manufacturing and WHS requirements.
You will work closely with sales, design, logistics and installation teams to ensure seamless workflow from job confirmation through to manufacturing, dispatch and on-site installations.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Job Planning & Scheduling
* Schedule printing, finishing, and installation timelines
* Prioritise jobs and juggle deadlines (especially urgent jobs)
* Ensuring daily boards nots installed report is done to ensure jobs go out on time
2. Print & Production Oversight
* Oversee printing processes (large format, digital, vinyl, boards, signage, etc.)
* Ensure correct materials, sizes, colours, and finishes are used
* Troubleshoot print issues before they become costly mistakes
3. Installation Coordination
* Plan and schedule installation teams (drivers/installers)
* Ensure site requirements, measurements, access, and safety needs are met
* Coordinate transport, tools, and materials for installs
4. Quality Control
* Check prints for print errors, colour issues, etc (outputs for accuracy and quality)
* Make sure installs meet client expectations and compliance standards
* Reduce reprints, wastage, and errors
5. Team Leadership
* Manage production staff, printers, factory staff/board layers, and drivers/installers
* Allocate work, monitor productivity, and resolve issues on the floor
* Train staff on equipment, processes, and safety
6. Stock & Supplier Management
* Manage inventory of substrates, inks, boards, and consumables
* Order materials through ABC Head office
* Control costs and minimise waste
7. Health & Safety
* Ensure WHS compliance in the workshop and on-site installs
* Conduct risk assessments for installations
* Enforce safe operating procedures for machinery
8. Cross-Team Communication
* Liaise with sales, customer service, design, drivers/installers and clients when required
* Set realistic production timelines and manage expectations
* Flag risks early (delays, supply issues, site constraints)
9. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
* Track KPIs like turnaround time, costs and efficiency
* Improve workflows, introduce better systems, and refine processes
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a Production Manager, Production Supervisor or similar senior role within print, signage or manufacturing.
* Proven experience managing print production workflows, finishing and sign installation coordination
* Certificate IV or Diploma in Production Management, Manufacturing, Engineering or similar (desirable)
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset
* Able to remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities
* Results-driven with a strong sense of accountability
* Committed to quality, safety and on-time delivery
* Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment
* Current Australian driver's licence (essential)
* Forklift licence (LF) – advantageous
