Job Description

The Keeping Women Safe in their Homes Project is a local, community-based initiative that raises awareness of family violence in the Katanning and surrounding communities. The Project focuses on case management, community engagement and capacity building strategies.

* Conduct intake and assessments to ensure immediate crisis needs are met.
* Conduct safety audits for outreach clients.
* Develop integrated, across-sector case management plans embedding a 'Safe and Together' approach.
* Support clients to make choices to enhance their safety and wellbeing, prevent homelessness, increase self-reliance and build capacity to live independently.

This is a part-time (0.6 FTE), maximum term position until 30 June 2027.

Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

* Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Social work, Social sciences, Community services) or demonstrated equivalent competency in a related field.
* Knowledge of domestic and family violence issues affecting both women and children, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse and Indigenous backgrounds.
* Proven ability to provide high quality casework support and complex case management.
* Demonstrated knowledge of government and community agencies and resources that assist families, benefits available housing and relevant legal issues.
* Well‐developed interpersonal and communication skills, including advocacy and negotiation skills.
* Proficiency in using Microsoft applications, document management systems, financial systems, Outlook, Word, and familiarity with databases.

Must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, ability to obtain a WA Working with Children Check, and a WA Drivers Licence.
