Chisholm is seeking an experienced Senior Collections and Systems Librarian to join our Library Services team at Chisholm. Full time, fixed term position until 31/12/2026.

About The Role
The Senior Collections and Systems Librarian leads the Technical Services team and coordinates access to relevant, up-to-date library collections and online resources. The role provides leadership and direction to ensure technical services are delivered effectively and remain focused on enhancing the student experience.
The Senior Collections and Systems Librarian is an important part of the Library and Learning Services team at Chisholm.
Library and Learning Services at Chisholm provide a welcoming, student-centred environment across both physical and digital platforms. The team delivers access to high-quality resources, academic support, and opportunities for study, engagement, and connection, fostering student success and a sense of belonging.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership to the Technical Services team, supporting staff capability and overseeing day‐to‐day operations to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
* Coordinate and oversee library systems, systems testing and systems upgrades in conjunction with Systems Support Librarian, Chisholm departments, and external vendors.
* Oversee and provide guidance for cataloguing best practices to ensure consistency, accuracy, and usability of the library catalogue, including original and copy cataloguing.
* Oversee purchasing, ordering, receipt of goods, and invoice processing in line with current Chisholm Finance policies and procedures.
* Coordinate the monitoring and maintenance of orders and cancellations for serials and journal subscriptions.
* In conjunction with the Senior Library and Learning Services Officer oversee collection maintenance and serials processing tasks.
* Advise staff about new, and relevant items, suppliers and services in relation to physical and electronic resources.
* Monitor and analyse usage data from the Library Management System and databases to generate meaningful insights that inform decision‐making, support service improvements, and contribute to statistical reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
* Work with stakeholders across Chisholm to enhance the quality and relevance of educational delivery by providing advice and support about information collections and research tools.
About You
You are a highly motivated individual with:
* Proven ability to lead and support a technical services team, fostering staff capability and ensuring consistent, high‐quality operational delivery.
* Expertise in data‐informed acquisitions and collection development, with a strong understanding of curriculum alignment and learner needs.
* Advanced knowledge of integrated library systems and discovery platforms, with a focus on delivering seamless and user‐friendly access to resources.
* Experience in coordinating acquisitions, processing, and distribution of physical resources, with a collaborative approach to staff development in collection management.
* Strong understanding of cataloguing standards and practices, with the ability to guide and maintain accuracy and usability of the library catalogue.
* Financial acumen in managing purchasing, invoicing, and budget monitoring to support efficient and compliant resource acquisition.
* Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines, together with an understanding of and commitment to working in a client‐focused environment.
Qualifications Required
* A relevant qualification at a minimum of Diploma level and relevant experience.
