About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of our buildings, gardens and grounds. Your work will directly contribute to creating safe and comfortable environments for older people in our care.
Key Responsibilities
* General building maintenance including minor repairs, painting, replacing fixtures and emergency repairs
* Grounds and garden maintenance including mowing, pruning, irrigation and garden bed care
* Operating and maintaining tools, mowers, vehicles and horticultural equipment
* Preventative and reactive maintenance across sites
* Support deliveries, stock, waste and basic warehouse duties.
About You
You are practical, dependable and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team. You take pride in keeping environments clean, safe and well-presented and have a genuine respect for older people.
You will have:
* Certificate II or III in Horticulture, Parks & Gardens, Landscaping, Building Maintenance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
* Trade Certificate or relevant trade qualification (e.g., Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, or similar – within licence scope) is desirable.
* Current driver's licence.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in grounds, building, or facilities maintenance (aged care experience desirable).
* Experience using commercial mowers, gardening, and maintenance equipment.
* Ability to perform physical work in outdoor and indoor environments.
* Strong communication skills with a focus on safety and customer service.
* Respectful, caring approach when working around older people.
