The HR Cartel is the outsourced HR and IR partner for Australian small and medium businesses. We work with founders, owners and leadership teams running businesses from 5 to 200 staff, across every industry you can think of.
We don't do \"best practice\" PowerPoints. We don't hand business owners a 40-page policy-book and call it a day. We get in, do the work, and protect our clients before problems blow up.

THE ROLE
You'll be a member of our growing Advice Team, owning a portfolio of SME clients and being the person they call when things get hard.
This is done-for-you HR and IR. Not arms-length advice. You'll draft contracts, write the warning, sit in the meeting, manage the dispute, and walk out the other side with the client still standing, and stronger for it.
You'll be backed by a team that has your back, a founder who fights for the work, and a client base that actually values what you do.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Advise business owners on Modern Awards, the Fair Work Act, NES, enterprise agreements, and the full IR landscape with confidence and clarity.
* Manage performance issues, terminations, redundancies, investigations and grievances end-to-end.
* Draft, review and update contracts, policies, position descriptions and HR documentation.
* Lead client meetings, including the hard ones with employees, engage union reps and lawyers on the other side.
* Build genuine, long-term relationships with clients who trust you with their business.
* Spot risks before they become problems. Proactive is the default setting here.
WHO YOU ARE
* Experienced in HR, IR or workplace relations to a level where you can understand and advise on risk, process and strategy.
* You can read a Modern Award and tell a business owner what it means for them, in plain English.
* You're confident on the phone, in the boardroom, and in a termination meeting. You don't flinch when it gets uncomfortable.
* You write well. Clearly. Without legal hedging that nobody understands.
* You actually like business owners and entrepreneurs. You respect what they're building.
* You want to do the work, not just point at it from a distance.
* Bonus: experience with Fair Work Commission matters, EBA negotiations, or unionised environments.
