About the role
We are actively recruiting for a Senior Business Partner - Finance (Tax) with strong attention to detail and expertise in Australian Tax Law and Accounting to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting, the successful candidate will manage financial operations, coordinate tax reporting, and support strategic financial and tax decision-making.
Key responsibilities include
Accounting for Corporate Departments
Maintaining Monthly Tax Fixed Asset Registers
Assisting with the preparation of the Annual Income Tax return and liaising with external tax advisors
Supporting quarterly tax effect accounting for the Group
Providing strategic tax advice and drafting internal compliance position papers
Preparing Business Activity Statements and Fringe Benefits Tax returns
Ensuring Income and Indirect tax compliance and supporting tax governance
Maintaining internal Financial, Tax, and Accounting Policies
Identifying areas for process improvement, driving efficiency, and cost savings
Handling ad-hoc requests and supporting the team as required
Qualifications and skills required
Practical experience with end-of-month reporting, cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
Minimum 5+ years in a similar role, preferably within the mining industry
Strong analytical and numeracy skills with keen attention to detail
Extensive knowledge of Australian Tax Law and Accounting
Knowledge of Canadian Tax Law is desirable
Bachelor's degree in Business or Commerce
Full Professional Membership with CA ANZ, CPA Australia, or CTA
