Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales. We are seeking an experienced and committed Support Mechanical Engineer to report to the Statutory Mechanical Engineer. This position is Monday to Friday, dayshift only, and will drive mechanical engineering performance and safety standards across site.
Responsibilities
The Support Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for providing advice and support across the business, actively investigating enhancements and improvement opportunities, developing the understanding of others to support and implement engineering improvements and maintaining a practical knowledge of the work environment to which engineering support is provided.
Qualifications
Qualification (or working toward) in a mechanical engineering discipline of study or similar
Motivation in obtaining statutory mechanical engineering certificate of competence
Open Cut Coal Mining experience
Superior communication, interpersonal, and communication skills
Heavy mobile equipment and/or fixed plant experience
Thorough understanding of NSW Statutory Obligations
SAP Maintenance Management System experience (desirable)
Highly organised and solutions focused
Time management skills, ability to meet deadlines and plan ahead
