As a Graduate/Junior Solutions Analyst you will be part of the Business Services Group's Data and Development team and will report to the Head of Development. The role will be responsible for development of operational data from numerous sources into Power BI data flows and data models.
Understanding of a dimensional data model (such as facts and dimensions) will compliment your ability to write SQL queries, with an eagerness to enhance these skills within a Power BI / Google BigQuery suite.
**What's the role?**
- Migrate and transform large, complex datasets from diverse sources, structures and formats modelled to support analysis for access to quality actionable insights.
- Building end to end data pipelines using cloud-based data platforms.
- Develop, publish and schedule Power BI data flows and datasets as per the business requirements.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation for deployment of development models to production.
- SQL database development.
- Ensuring output is developed and adequately tested against defined criteria.
- Troubleshooting to resolve issues / defects found.
- Provide adequate documentation for deployment and release of data models to production.
**Who you are?**
- Completed a degree in data engineering, computer science or a related field, or 1 year working experience in related in relevant area.
- Programming in any language.
- Approaches problem-solving with a methodical and organized mindset, breaking down complex issues into logical steps to arrive at effective solutions. \
- Demonstrates a consistent approach in developing solutions, meticulously adhering to naming conventions and development standards.
- Attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Exposure to dimensional data models and writing SQL queries, with an enthusiasm to enhance these skills.
- The ability to effectively communicate technical details clearly.
- Be self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Eagerness to learn and grow with the business.
