The Opportunity
Veolia ANZ has an opening for an experienced Operational Contract Manager to oversee an experienced Operations team over various sites (+ 250 employees & contractors) with the delivery of a large-scale contract with one of our long term customers.
Can be based in Newman or Port Hedland, relocation support available. Rental assistance or company housing provided.

What you’ll be responsible
- Build and maintain strong customer partnerships through proactive engagement, regular site presence, and transparent communication that anticipates needs and delivers solutions before problems arise
- Drive operational excellence by actively leading from the front, ensuring contractual KPIs are not just met but exceeded through hands-on management and strategic resource deployment
- Lead by example, mentoring and empowering experienced operations team within heavy industry
- Maintain an effective relationship with all stakeholders, including our customers, managers, supervisors, operational and administration staff, ensuring that employee engagement is a focus
- Ensure compliance and reporting obligations are completed for the customer and Veolia
- Take ownership of P&L; performance while strategically managing fleet, machinery, and people resource allocation to drive both current delivery and future growth opportunities
- Champion safety excellence and compliance standards across all operations, in conjunction with the Veolia and customer safety teams
What you need to be responsible
- Demonstrable experience in similar operational management role within the heavy resources/mining sector
- Proven leadership experience building and managing high-performing teams
- Strong relationship builder - ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder partnerships
- Contract management expertise with demonstrated experience in customer-focused environments
- Operational management background including P&L; responsibility, budgeting and reporting
- Excellent communication skills - influence, negotiate and resolve issues decisively
