What you'll be doing:
As Legal Counsel at Virgin Australia, you'll be a trusted advisor to the business, partnering with teams across the organisation to provide commercially pragmatic legal support that helps keep us moving forward. You'll play a key role in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, reviewing marketing and promotional content, advising on litigation matters and helping the business confidently navigate legal risk across areas including consumer, competition, privacy and spam law.
Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll provide innovative and solutions‐focused legal advice to support Virgin Australia achieve its strategic initiatives. This is an opportunity to bring a proactive, collaborative and customer‐first mindset to a role where no two days are the same.
You'll be great in this role if you:
* Bring 2 to 4 years post‐admission experience from a reputable law firm or in‐house legal team, with strong exposure to complex commercial transactions, contract drafting and negotiation.
* Have a Bachelor of Laws and hold (or are eligible to obtain) a Legal Practising Certificate.
* Provide commercially pragmatic advice that balances legal compliance with business strategy and delivers practical outcomes.
* Thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy building strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.
* Have excellent technical drafting, negotiation and analytical skills, paired with a sharp eye for detail.
* Are confident managing competing priorities, working independently and using initiative in a fast‐paced environment.
* Bring a solid understanding of contract law principles and a genuine interest in developing your knowledge across areas such as consumer, competition, privacy and compliance law.
* Enjoy working as part of a high‐performing, customer‐focused team that values curiosity, collaboration and fresh thinking.
