**About AQA**
AQA was established in 1987 by a group of people with quadriplegia who saw a need for improved access to information, support and employment opportunities for people living with spinal cord injury. Today, AQA has grown into a strong and diverse community. We support each other to live full and enriching lives by sharing our knowledge and lived experience of a range of complex physical disabilities, through our services our resources, and our relationships.

**Support Workers at AQA**- Empower clients in their own homes to be independent and participate fully in life and in their community.-
- Support clients to live their best lives and achieve their goals and aspirations by providing physical and emotional support that, in turn, enhances their participation and contribution in the community.-
- On a day-to-day basis, a support worker's role can include:- Personal care (showering, toileting, manual transfers, etc)-
- Administering medications-
- Providing support with High Intensity Supports (Bowel Care, Urinary and Catheter care)-
- Domestic support (laundry, light cleaning, etc.)-
- Social support (companionship)-

**Essential Criteria**- A deep commitment to the reliable provision of respectful care and support.-
- A sophisticated understanding of professional boundaries and safety.-
- A current NDIS Worker Clearance-
- A Working with Children's Check-
- Evidence of rights to work in Australia-
- Evidence of three COVID vaccines-
- Current First Aid certification-
- Current CPR certification-
