Role Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Assistant Store Manager (Second in Charge)
to join our Brisbane team. This is an ongoing fixed-term full-time position with no predetermined end date.
In this leadership role, you will work closely with the Retail Operations Manager, and Head Office team to ensure seamless daily operations and uphold the highest standards of retail excellence. You will play a critical role in driving sales performance, elevating the customer experience, and fostering a professional, motivated, and high-performing team environment.
You will be responsible for overseeing all key operational areas of the store, from managing and developing staff to maintaining visual merchandising and ensuring adherence to operational policies. Additionally, you will play an active role in training and onboarding team members, lead by example during customer interactions, and consistently enforce brand standards across all points of customer engagement.
This role demands a proactive leader with exceptional organisational skills, operational discipline, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams to drive business success. Your contribution will be integral to delivering a premium retail experience and supporting Mode Mischief's growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring operational excellence, efficiency, and a seamless customer experience
* Lead, motivate, and develop the retail team to achieve and exceed sales targets while maintaining exceptional service standards
* Collaborate closely with the Retail Operations Manager and Head Office to align store performance with broader company objectives
* Assist with staff scheduling, onboarding, and ongoing training to build a skilled, confident, and engaged team
* Drive consistent visual merchandising standards and maintain store presentation in line with brand guidelines
* Support stock management processes, including receiving deliveries, stock replenishment, inventory accuracy, stock takes, and maintaining strong stock control practices
* Support opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and loss prevention initiatives
* Proactively identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions to improve workflow, performance, and overall store outcomes
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience in retail supervisory or management roles, ideally within fast-paced, high-volume environments
* Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
* Exceptional customer service and communication skills
* Strong organisational and problem-solving aptitude
* Ability to enforce operational standards and compliance
* Knowledge of visual merchandising best practices
