Job Description YOUR ROLE As part of the Financial Shared Services function, the Accounting Services Officer plays a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of bank reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, tax-related reconciliations, and financial journal processing for a portfolio of MACS schools. Working closely with schools, SSC colleagues, and the broader Finance team, you will contribute to strong financial control, process integrity, and customer-focused service delivery. This position suits a proactive finance professional with experience in reconciliation processes and asset management, looking to make an impact in a values-driven, mission-based organisation. WHAT YOU WILL DO Perform monthly bank reconciliations, tax reconciliations (e.g. GST, PAYG, FBT) and journal processing across assigned schools. Maintain fixed asset registers, manage disposals and depreciation, and ensure accurate month-end reporting. Investigate and resolve outstanding reconciliation items in collaboration with schools and internal teams. Assist with the preparation of the annual FBT return and provide audit support as required. Work with school staff and Finance Business Partners to resolve accounting issues and ensure best practice processing. Contribute to cross-training and a collaborative, supportive team environment. ABOUT YOU Demonstrated experience in bank reconciliations, asset register maintenance, depreciation, and journal processing. Sound understanding of tax compliance and accounting standards in a shared services or similar environment. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills; familiarity with ERP or financial management systems. High attention to detail and problem-solving capability under time pressure. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. A service-oriented, collaborative approach to working with schools and finance stakeholders.
