Stellar is excited to be partnering with Beginning Boutique, a fashion brand that breaks the mould. This is not your typical CFO opportunity. We are searching for a strategic, commercially sharp, and systems-savvy Chief Financial Officer to help them scale smart, move fast, and dream big.
Founded in 2008 by the humble yet formidable Sarah Timmerman, Beginning Boutique has grown from a Brisbane start-up into a globally loved online fashion retailer. The brand is known for empowering women to show up and stand out. Sarah, an EY Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist and Telstra Business of the Year winner, is a driving force in Australian e-commerce. She leads with heart, humility, and high standards.
We are looking for a CFO to be her commercial co-pilot. Someone who can bring clarity, discipline, and momentum to the next phase of growth.
About the Role
As CFO, you will not just run the numbers. You will shape the financial future of a brand with global ambition. You will take ownership of financial strategy, drive operational excellence, and implement the systems and frameworks needed for scalable and sustainable growth.
This is a rare opportunity to work closely with a founder who inspires, empowers, and expects excellence, while giving you full responsibility for the finance function.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead financial strategy and ensure operational discipline across Australia and the US
* Mentor and support an established finance team with empathy and clarity
* Improve financial systems, reporting, and controls, embedding best practices to support rapid and responsible growth
* Contribute to company-wide strategy, planning, and decision-making
* Manage day-to-day accounting and cash flow while maintaining a long-term focus on profitability
* Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, external accountants, and key financial stakeholders
* Develop and manage commercial models that support smarter decisions across marketing, inventory, logistics, and growth initiatives
Who We’re Looking For:
You are more than a finance leader. You are a strategic thinker, operational builder, and people-first manager. You will bring:,
* A tertiary qualification in commerce, accounting, business, or a related field, along with CPA or CA certification. An MBA or equivalent strategic training is a strong advantage
* Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within e-commerce, fashion, or retail
* A background in founder-led or entrepreneurial environments, with hands-on experience scaling a business
* A strong systems mindset, with a passion for designing and improving tools, processes, and platforms
* The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on involvement in day-to-day operations
* High emotional intelligence and strong leadership skills that bring out the best in your team
* A commercial mindset and the confidence to challenge, question, and drive performance across departments
* Experience managing banking relationships, external advisors, and capital planning
* Exposure to international expansion or omnichannel strategies is highly regarded
