headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health and wellbeing services to 12-25 year olds. headspace Coffs Harbour has a part-time (0.2 FTE) vacancy for a Dietitian who will deliver dietetic services to headspace clients one day per week.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the person seeking care, their family and friends and relevant clinicians including (but not limited to) GPs, Youth Access Clinicians, Allied Health Practitioners, Specialists, co-located partners and other services to ensure ongoing quality care. These services will be delivered in a safe, friendly, courteous, confidential, supportive and professional way.

Key responsibilities include:

* Comprehensive nutritional assessment of people who access the service and are referred to you by their General Practitioner
* Collaboratively develop, organise and undertake nutritional interventions (individual and group) in accordance with evidence-based practice
* Manage a caseload for whom you provide nutritional services (assessments, interventions and monitoring)
* Observe, participate and contribute to multi-discipline collaboration and practices
* Liaise and collaborate with external referrers and care providers to ensure quality, person-centred wrap-around care
* Maintain accurate and timely therapeutic and administrative records, reports and documents as required
* Liaise and collaborate with agencies, schools, organisations, departments, individuals and families as required for the effective operation of the service

Desired Skills and Experience

* Bachelor of Science or Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics
* Member of Dietitians Australia with Full or Provisional APD status
* Professional indemnity insurance and eligibility to provide Medicare Benefits Schedule services
* Experience in the nutritional assessment, nutritional diagnosis and provision of evidence-based dietetic care of young people with mental and/or physical health and/or wellbeing concerns
* Experience working with young people with body image concerns
* Experience in working with young people whose mental and physical wellbeing is being impacted by disordered eating.
* Excellent skills in engaging and working with vulnerable people (including but not limited to people who identify as: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, people who identify as LGBTQIA+, people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, people experiencing family or domestic violence) and their families and friends
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
* Knowledge of professional codes of conduct, ethics and values and to be aware of legislation which are relevant to young people and service delivery
* Post graduate training in areas consistent with Nutrition and Dietetics
* Experience in working with neurodiverse young people
* Experience in working with young people who have been diagnosed with Anorexia or Bulimia
* Experience in working with young people whose mental and physical wellbeing is being impacted by ARFID and/or other mental health related disordered eating.
