The Reily Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organisation providing free education and advocacy support to parents navigating the Child Protection System in South Australia. We are committed to keeping families connected, supporting safe reunification, and strengthening parenting capacity through practical, solution-focused support.
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Bookkeeping and Payroll / Executive Assistant to join our team 3 days per week. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the daily operations of a fast-growing not-for-profit organisation that is driving systemic change and improving outcomes for families.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, this diverse role combines financial administration, executive support, and marketing/communications responsibilities. You will:
Manage bookkeeping and payroll functions, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance using Xero.
Provide high-level executive assistance, including diary management, board and governance support, minute taking, and correspondence.
Work independently, problem-solve proactively, and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping: accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, fortnightly payroll including salary sacrificing, financial reporting, and ATO compliance, General Ledger Maintenance, P&L and BAS preparation
Executive Support: Board report preparation, minutes, drafting correspondence, stakeholder liaison, and research.
Operations: providing solutions to executive business needs and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
We are looking for someone who thrives in a varied role and can balance competing demands with professionalism and initiative.
Essential skills and experience:
Previous administrative or executive support experience at a senior level.
Demonstrated bookkeeping and payroll skills, with Xero proficiency .
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High-level organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Experience with digital media and communications support.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Highly desirable:
Qualifications in business, administration, finance, or a related field.
Experience in the not-for-profit or NGO sector.
Demonstrated grant writing or funding submission experience.
