About the role
The Officer – ES (S&T) contributes to our strategic impact of supporting communities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters. The focus of therole will be to deliver Australian Red Cross Preparedness and Resilience workshops to a broad range of stakeholders across South Australia as well as dutiesacross one or more areas of emergency services work.Projects- provides operational support for the consistent roll out and delivery of projects, primarily focused on the planning, design, development and overall project coordination of key Emergency Services quality and continuous improvement priorities. Delivers specialised project work, which includes but is not limited to analysis, interpretation, design, development, review and evaluation of work practices, policy, and procedures on set prescribed pieces of work.Volunteer managementand support - provides leadership for Volunteers through engagement, capacity building, coaching, advocacy and provision of advice, and support Volunteers to deliver services that help people before, during and after disasters. This includes ensuring that volunteers are appropriately skilled, compliant and equipped to support their teams.Community work- uses a community development approach to build local partnerships, facilitate, and strengthen relationships between emergency services agencies, government, service providers and organisations and communities to support the delivery of programs and projects that build community resilience
What you will bring
* Demonstrated ability to facilitate and deliver training workshops to a broad range of stakeholders
* Manage multiple tasks and deliver outputs within specified time frames
* Ability to coach and develop individuals and teams
* Ability to work under general direction from senior employees and with people from diverse backgrounds and create a collaborative working environment
* Ability to set priorities, plan and organise own work and that other staff and/or volunteers as required
* Demonstrated sound technical knowledge and expertise in project work, volunteer management or community resilience
* Ability to conduct intrastate travel including overnight stays.
