Senior Communications Officer - Communication Strategist
We're looking for experienced Senior Communications professionals who are passionate about meaningful work and ready to contribute to a major statewide initiative.
The Bluegum Health Transformation Program is a significant government investment aimed at transforming Tasmania's healthcare system to be more connected, person-centred, and digitally enabled.
As a Senior Communications Officer, you'll join the stakeholder engagement team, helping shape the public narrative and internal communications of this transformative program.
* You'll take the lead on proactive and reactive communications, stakeholder engagement, media relations, and issues management across a high-impact portfolio of work.
* You'll advise executive leaders, craft strategic communication plans, and deliver compelling content across multiple channels.
* You'll develop, implement, and evaluate internal and external communications activities in support of the program's goals.
* You'll prepare and review a wide range of written materials for various audiences in numerous formats, including media releases, online and social media platforms, video content, and marketing material.
* You'll establish, develop, and manage productive relationships and liaise with key stakeholders to advance the delivery of agreed goals.
Requirements:
* High-level strategic communications expertise developed through extensive experience, including the ability to develop, implement, and evaluate communications strategies.
* High-level professional media relations experience with demonstrated experience in the provision of media advice and support on major public issues.
* Highly developed written communication skills, including the capacity to produce high-quality documents in a variety of communication formats for a range of target audiences.
* Highly developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Proven ability to provide authoritative, specialist, and effective advice to managers and colleagues on the development and delivery of strategic and operational media and communications matters.
About the Role:
* This is a senior, hands-on role where you'll operate with a significant degree of independence and autonomy in the execution of key communication activities.
* You'll provide specialist advice to the senior leadership team, including the Chief Clinical Information Officer and Program Managers.
* Graphic design and/or presentation layout skills are desirable.
