Our client is an innovative, privately owned Australian business specialising in hard and technical facilities services for major asset, commercial, and industrial property owners across the country. With consistent year-on-year growth and a highly specialised, safety-critical service offering, they are now seeking a proven and strategic CEO to lead the company through its next phase of growth.
About the Role
The CEO will play a pivotal role in scaling operations, strengthening organisational capability, and deepening customer engagement across Australia. This is a hands-on, customer-facing leadership role, well suited to an experienced executive with a background in field-based technical services and a proven ability to grow businesses through both strategic insight and operational execution.
As the founder transitions to a Non-Executive Director role, the CEO will assume full leadership responsibility, including financial performance, safety leadership, business development, team culture, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Growth: Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with corporate goals.
* Financial Leadership: Manage P&L, drive EBIT and gross margin improvements, and ensure effective cost control.
* Safety & Quality: Lead safety performance, implement and improve safety management systems, and uphold service quality.
* Culture & Talent: Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture and drive organisational and leadership development.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key customers, property owners, and internal stakeholders including sister businesses within the Group.
* Operational Excellence: Improve processes to enhance efficiency and service delivery outcomes.
Candidate Profile
To be considered, you must bring deep experience in hard or technical facilities services, with field-based technicians delivering contracted services to major commercial or industrial customers. You are commercially astute, strategic, and thrive in high-accountability leadership roles.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in Business, Engineering, or Technical discipline.
* Minimum 10 years' executive leadership experience in hard or technical facility services (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, Fire Systems, Access Control, Building Automation, Height Access).
* Experience leading decentralised, technician-based field service operations.
* Demonstrated success in driving growth, customer retention, and operational performance.
* Strong contract negotiation skills.
* Deep relationships across the facilities/property management sector.
* Strong financial and commercial acumen, including analytics and strategy execution.
* Proven experience in building culture, leading change, and developing talent.
* Strong communication skills and ability to report to boards and senior executives.
* Safety systems and compliance experience desirable.
* Experience reporting into a Board will be highly considered.
