New Boval Pty Ltd are a custom precision sheet metal manufacturers located in Penrith, NSW. New Boval Pty Ltd have a highly skilled and experienced team of engineers and draftsmen who will provide advice about Sheetmetal product development and design of custom-made precision Sheetmetal products specifically for your business and project needs.
We are seeking a competent Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 3 years' experience to both maintain and develop these tasks and to provide a greater level of service to our client base.
The ideal candidate would be performing the following job tasks:
* Design and develop sheet metal components and systems.
* Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
* Perform material selection and cost analysis for projects.
* Collaborate with design and production teams to optimize designs.
* Conduct stress and structural analysis to ensure product integrity.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
* Evaluate mechanical equipment and manufacturing process to identify safety risks and implement engineering controls such as machine guarding and equipment modifications.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to sheet metal manufacturing.
* Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and production staff.
* Develop and document manufacturing processes and best practices.
* Stay updated on the latest advancements in sheet metal engineering and technology.
* Understanding customer expectations and always promoting customer value.
* Examining the quality of raw materials that are used in production.
* Perform checks and assessments in timely manner to maintain customer service levels.
* Continuous process improvement around systems, procedures, and overall standards.
* Ensuring and promoting compliance with all EH&S systems and procedures.
* Establish, document, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and specifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* Plan and execute inspections, audits, and testing procedures for raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
* Analyse production data to identify, implement, and monitor improvements in processes and workflows.
* Manage, train, and supervise QA personnel, ensuring they follow established protocols.
* Address customer complaints/feedback, develop corrective actions, and ensure suppliers meet quality specifications.
* Create reports on the effectiveness of the management system, utilizing KPIs like defect density and resolution time.
* Supporting all production team members and production processes
Qualifications• At least a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Skills
* At least 3 years of commercial experience in Mechanical Engineering.
* Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining and forming processes.
* Knowledge of ISO9001 standard and audit process.
* Experience in SolidWorks.
* Production experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
* A successful track record of change and process improvement.
* Ability to identify solutions based on a mixture of analysis, experience and judgment.
* Excellent planning and time management skills.
* An effective verbal and written communicator for all levels of the organisation.
