MECHANIC SUPERVISOR Looking to lead a skilled automotive team in a stunning island setting? Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced Mechanic Supervisor to lead the maintenance and repair of the light vehicle fleet and associated equipment across Hamilton Island, Dent Island, and Shute Harbour. This hands-on leadership role is essential in keeping our fleet operational and maintained to the highest standards. Your Role As the Mechanic Supervisor, you'll oversee a team of mechanics and trade assistants to ensure timely, high-quality servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance across our fleet. You’ll work hands-on with the team and manage daily workloads, ensure safety compliance, and uphold Hamilton Island’s values of teamwork, respect, and excellence. Your technical skills and leadership will be key to minimising downtime, ensuring vehicle reliability, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise mechanics and trade assistants across multiple locations Work hands-on to service, maintain, and repair golf buggies, light vehicles, and fleet equipment Diagnose mechanical issues and deliver effective, timely solutions Prioritise urgent and scheduled maintenance tasks efficiently Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and maintain high work standards Conduct preventative maintenance to extend vehicle lifespan Ensure compliance with safety regulations, repair procedures, and quality standards Manage stock levels and order parts to avoid service delays Maintain accurate maintenance records and job tracking Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal departments Support emergency and volunteer work as required Foster a strong team culture built on professionalism, safety, and respect What We’re Looking For Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical or equivalent (Essential) Current QLD Driver’s Licence, with ability to drive on HIE roads (Essential) Proven mechanical experience with petrol, diesel, and electric engines (Essential) Strong understanding of diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and automotive repair (Essential) Ability to respond to breakdowns and coordinate timely repairs (Essential) Previous experience with fleet management and maintaining golf buggies (Desirable) Forklift licence (Desirable) A motivated, safety-conscious leader who leads by example About Us Hamilton Island is the Whitsundays’ premiere island resort with four resort options, over 15 dining venues, a championship golf course, and a luxury Yacht Club.
