The role: Our Canberra based Employment and Safety team is seeking an ambitious and driven Lawyer/Associate who has 1-3 years PAE in Employment and Industrial Law, or 1-3 years PAE in Disputes, and a strong interest to work in Employment and Industrial law.
Our team advises and assists a range of employers, primarily within the Commonwealth Government but also State/Territory Governments and private sector employers, on all employment, industrial and workplace health and safety matters. The industries in which our clients operate include government, education, energy, contractor services, transport, retail, financial services and manufacturing.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with and learn from a large team of lawyers, [EA1] including senior and experienced lawyers, led by one Partner. The team assists clients with [EA2] diverse and interesting matters including the development and implementation of IR strategies, advice on enterprise bargaining, responding to industrial disputes, drafting and advising on the enforcement of employment agreements, defending unfair dismissal, general protection and discrimination claims, advising on compliance with WHS laws and conducing workplace investigations.

- have experience in a high quality practice in the areas of employment, workplace relations and occupational health and safety law including in the areas highlighted above, or general litigation experience in a similar area.
