The Role
We are looking for a corporate lawyer (3-4 years' PQE) to join our growing Perth Corporate Advisory team working primarily with Luke Nicholls and Andrew Crean. The role will see you working closely with the partners and other team members, and representing listed and unlisted clients in relation to a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions, including private and public mergers & acquisitions, equity capital markets, energy & resources project development and operations, private equity, maritime sector work (both domestic and inbound investments), Corporations Act and regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and commercial contracts (joint ventures, shareholder agreements, term sheets etc).
* Legal research and document drafting
* Due diligence coordination and review
* Drafting and/or reviewing various contracts and corporate documents, and summarising them, including for key legal issues relevant to the client
* Preparing draft advices to clients for review (with clear guidance and instruction)
* Coordinating completion activities and liaising with junior lawyers on those activities
* Verification and other legal reviews
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients
Who We Are Looking For
You're a lawyer with experience in corporate and commercial law, and a desire to learn and work on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters in a dedicated Corporate Advisory team on a growth trajectory within a leading national law firm. You take pride in being thorough, client-focused, and commercially astute. You're ready to build upon your technical skills, develop your network and immerse yourself in complex matters, with the support of a collaborative team and strong mentoring from experienced and practical Corporate Advisory partners.
* Between 3-4 years' experience in a reputable corporate practice group or in-house role
* Strong drafting skills and legal reasoning
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong commercial awareness
* Experience in working in a team environment
