Key Job Responsibilities
As a Systems Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating system safety activities within assigned projects.
* Communicate activities internal and external to the projects to provide visibility of current hazards, mitigation strategies and review results.
* Prepare internal and external reports on each Project's system safety to support project reviews and System Safety Working Groups.
* Lead the determination of safety requirements affecting material and component suppliers and vendors;
* Recommend approval or rejection of vendor or suppliers safety documentation;
* Maintain each Project's Hazard Log and supporting documentation.
This role requires experience in safety engineering programs based on standards such as MIL-STD-882.

Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in engineering is desirable.
* Experience creating safety cases and hazard logs with attention to detail.
* Experience and solid understanding of systems safety process and engineering lifecycle.
* The ability to demonstrate initiative and be self-motivated to work with minimum supervision.
* Excellent communication skills, as you will be liaising both verbally and in writing to various stakeholder groups.
A background and experience in a Defence or Maritime setting will be advantageous but not mandatory.
