Let's talk about this role
The Senior Software Developer is the backbone of our technology and engineering teams here in our nib Travel team. In this role, you will lead the shift towards a microservices architecture and user-centric design, leveraging agile practices and cloud technology, particularly AWS, to develop cutting-edge and robust solutions.
Furthermore, you will also:
1. Be responsible for the analysis, design, development and support of applications
2. Be the go-to expert by demonstrating an architectural mindset and a high level of knowledge in software development
3. Coordinate production support and production release with other relevant IT departments
4. Advocate for good software engineering practices automated testing, continuous improvements and continuous delivery
5. Provide thought leadership on how best to maximise the use of bespoke software so that nib Travel technologies are built in a maintainable, effective and fit-for-purpose way
6. Mentor and coach less experienced developers

Let's talk about you
With demonstrated experience working in a similar role, you will also have experience working in a cloud native environment (we use AWS here!). In addition, some other skills and experience that will set you up for success in this role include:
7. Proficiency in building and maintaining applications using .NET/C# and AWS (Lambdas/Fargate etc)
8. Experience in developing both front-end and back-endponents of web applications
9. Familiarity with microservices architecture and its implementation in a .NET environment
10. Experience with Version Control and CI/CD tools such as Git
11. Knowledge in database technologies (SQL/NoSQL) and experience in API development and integration
12. Experience in testing methodologies (Unit, Integration, E2E) for full stack development
13. Ability to take ownership, prioritise and meet deadlines
14. Willingness to teach others and is also keen to learn
