What is the role?
Working within the Corporate Communications section, the Production team is responsible for managing the AFP's Conference Centre and capturing corporate photography and video; as well as documenting significant operational work for training, public information and historical purposes. Corporate Communications is responsible for delivering professional communication solutions to support and enable our members to deliver maximum impact to the criminal environment.
As the Team Leader Production, within Corporate Communications, you will provide support and management to a small but diverse team of video/photography production specialists, while working closely with colleagues in Strategic Communications, Marketing Communications and Media. You will use your understanding and experience leading creative production processes to ensure they have the time, skills, equipment and information to provide high quality visual communications solutions on behalf of the AFP. The type of work will range from one-off initiatives requiring photography and videography to large-scale projects and campaigns.
You will also oversee and support the event management and technical delivery of conferences held in the AFP Conference Centre, including live-streaming and recording broadcast quality video. This will include providing support to the team and ensuring they are equipped with everything they need to run professional, seamless events.
As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do?
We're looking for a highly motivated and organised individual who is passionate about supporting and empowering the AFP's production specialists to produce high quality content about the AFP's role, priorities, initiatives, campaigns and operational successes.
**In this role you will**:
Lead, manage, coach, motivate and mentor a range of creative production specialists.
Develop strong working relationships with Strategic and Marketing Communications as well as liaise effectively with internal clients to understand business and project needs.
Establish effective production workflows and briefs to ensure projects are delivered to a consistent high-quality within agreed timeframes.
Provide high level production advice and resolve complex issues and requests.
Oversee and support the technical delivery of AFP events and conferences within the AFP Conference Centre.
Oversee media management and archiving, including working with AFP ICT specialists to ensure storage is supported and maintained.
Identify ongoing professional development and learning opportunities and ensure team members have the appropriate equipment to do their job effectively.
Cultivate an environment of high performance, responsiveness and customer service.
Maintain quality control by reviewing and proofing outgoing work.
Ensure products comply with AFP branding and style guide
