About the team
The People Group is responsible for building a capable, supported and high-performing workforce that enables ARENA's mission. Led by the Chief People Officer, the team oversees the full suite of people functions, performance and development, workforce capability, wellbeing and safety, workforce planning, recruitment, and people systems and analytics, ensuring that ARENA has the talent, culture and frameworks needed to deliver its strategic priorities.
We're seeking a People Consultant - Operations to play a pivotal role in ensuring ARENA has fit‐for‐purpose HR systems and processes, and the right advice, data and support to make great people decisions.
About the role
This is a strategic, hands‐on people role focused on designing and improving people systems, processes and policies that support the organisation now and into the future.
You will work closely with senior leaders and the People Group's leadership team, providing insight into current and emerging workforce risks and helping to drive proactive, evidence‐based workforce decisions that support ARENA's strategic direction.
The People Consultant - Operations role is classified at the EL1 equivalent level.
What you'll be responsible for
* Building strong relationships with employees and leaders to become a trusted advisor on complex people matters.
* Leading the development and interpretation of HR reporting and dashboards that provide insight into current and future workforce risks.
* Assisting with the architecture, optimisation and ongoing management of ARENA's HRMIS environment.
* Maturing workforce planning across the organisation and driving agreed workforce plan actions.
* Developing and reviewing people policies and processes to drive efficiency, effectiveness and continuous improvement.
* Working collaboratively across the People Group to deliver integrated, innovative people solutions aligned to ARENA's values and strategy.
What you'll bring
* Comprehensive HR and legislative knowledge across the employee lifecycle.
* Demonstrated experience delivering high‐quality HR advisory and workforce support in complex, fast‐paced environments.
* Experience building and sustaining effective business partnerships that foster trust, collaboration and confidence among leaders and teams.
* Strong planning, coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to anticipate future workforce needs and manage competing priorities.
* The capability to translate business priorities into meaningful workforce actions, advice and outcomes.
* An in‐depth understanding of key people metrics, strong analytical skills, and the ability to derive meaningful insights from workforce data to inform decision‐making.
* Preferably, tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or a related discipline.
