The G2 Ward at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity
* The Clinical Nurse Consultant is accountable at an advanced practice level for the coordination of clinical practice delivered within the clinical unit.
* The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a senior level clinician who is responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise at an advanced nursing practice level for the provision and coordination of evidence-based person-centred care in accordance with organisational goals for a defined clinical area or specialty.
* The Clinical Nurse Consultant can function in more complex nursing situations, providing support and direction to the inter-disciplinary
* As the Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will demonstrate specialised expertise and/or skill set in the provision of nursing care as specified by registration requirements, NMBA standards & codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation and context of care.
* The Clinical Nurse Consultant is responsible and accountable for the effective management of a quality portfolio and associated supportive activities to facilitate the achievement of care standards prescribed within the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
About the Team
The G2 Unit is a 30-bed adult medical unit providing multi-disciplinary assessment, management and care in General Medicine. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) works collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager and Nurse Educator and wider health care team, supporting the clinical unit in the provision of safe, quality health care through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice.
