The program
Through the Migrant Parenting and Playgroup Programs, Red Cross supports Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) families of the community to develop a sense of belonging, to improve their family's wellbeing and to strengthen their parenting skills and knowledge. We are seeking volunteers who have a genuine desire to assist former refugees and migrants.
The opportunity
Gain valuable experience working in the community with CALD families while providing companionship and friendship to someone experiencing vulnerability. This role is suited to someone over the age of 18 who is a good listener, culturally sensitive and loves children
The impact
As a volunteer with our program, you will brighten the life of someone experiencing vulnerability by offering them company and support to engage in their local community. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World's largest humanitarian network
Application requirements
8. For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, organised through Red Cross
9. To submit an application you will need to provide details for two professional references
10. The role will also require you to hold or apply for NSW Working with Children Check. Red Cross can assist you to apply for this check
