Clarence Street Long Day Care in South Brisbane is seeking an Assistant Director to support the leadership of our newest service in the heart of the community. This 175-place centre is closely connected to both our school and the local neighbourhood. Working alongside the Centre Director, you’ll lead a passionate team, oversee smooth daily operations, and create a warm, nurturing setting where children aged 6 weeks to 5 years can learn, grow, and thrive.
Responsibilities
- Support the Director in the day-to-day running of the centre
- Foster high-quality, inclusive education and care practices
- Lead by example and mentor educators in their professional growth
- Build meaningful relationships with families and the local community
- Step into leadership when the Centre Director is away
Ideal Candidate
We seek a positive, motivated leader eager to grow and inspire. Essential qualifications and attributes include:
- Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ACECQA approved)
- Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS, and contemporary early childhood pedagogy
- Proven experience in an educational leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support a team of educators
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Collaborative, proactive, and reflective approach to early childhood education
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC), First Aid, and CPR certification
