Contract: daily rate, 12 months initial, with possible extension
We are seeking an experienced Test Analyst to join a confidential government ICT program. This is a contract opportunity with a dynamic team, delivering high-impact digital and system solutions. The role involves validating system design and functionality, ensuring testing is thorough, structured, and aligned with agreed guidelines.
You will work under general direction from senior staff, exercise independent judgement within defined parameters, and contribute to team goals while managing competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute assigned test cases at various stages of testing using appropriate platforms.
* Develop test plans, test cases, task cards, and supporting test data.
* Analyse and report on test activities, results, and elevate issues or risks to senior staff.
* Identify, document, and manage defects or inconsistencies with design specifications.
* Contribute to team improvement initiatives, including process changes and test automation.
* Create test data within external software vendor environments.
* Accurately record and report effort, allocation, and task completion.
* Provide guidance, training, and support to less experienced testers.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
* Support compliance with ICT legislation, policies, and processes.
* Provide technical advice to vendors regarding testing and software development.
Technical Skills / Experience
* Strong knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
* Experience with test automation tools and test management tools (e.g., OpenText ALM).
* Exposure to SAP CRM and SAP S4/HANA environments.
* Prior experience in government or large-scale enterprise projects.
Candidate Requirements
* Must be an Australian citizen.
* Must have or be able to obtain Baseline Security Clearance.
* Experience as a Test Analyst or similar ICT testing role.
* Ability to work onsite or hybrid in the nominated capital city locations.
* Strong communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders and vendors.
