THE OPPORTUNITY
CS Energy is seeking a strategic and hands-on
Manager Engineering
to lead a high-performing, multi-disciplined engineering team at the Callide Power Station. This is a senior leadership role that plays a critical part in delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective energy generation through engineering excellence.
As Manager Engineering, you will provide capable leadership across Electrical, Mechanical, Control System, and Civil engineering disciplines. Your team supports the Callide Site Business Plan through capital projects, overhaul engineering, plant strategy development, and performance optimisation. You'll also contribute to site-wide strategic planning as a key member of the Site Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a diverse engineering team, fostering technical capability and professional growth.
* Oversee delivery of engineering and contract services aligned with operational goals and lifecycle strategies.
* Scope and supervise specialist service providers and contractors to ensure quality outcomes.
* Provide technical oversight for plant operations, investigations, and thermal performance.
* Ensure compliance with the Professional Engineers Act 2002, statutory obligations, and plant change processes.
* Develop and implement maintenance strategies using reliability-centred principles.
* Manage engineering projects that support compliance, risk mitigation, and long-term asset performance.
* Take ownership of work management Master Data and ensure high-quality task documentation.
* Monitor performance using BI Reports and validate maintenance budgets in SAP.
* Act as delegate for the Head of Engineering when required, ensuring continuity of leadership.
* Collaborate across boundaries with other Site Leadership Team members to deliver on business plans.
This is a full time, permanent position at Callide Power Station.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:
* Engineering degree with 5-10 years experience in the power generating industry or heavy industry and previously worked in senior leadership roles.
* Highly developed leadership skills with the ability to manage a group of multi-disciplined professionals to meet tight timeframes.
* Previous experience in the successful implementation of engineering related projects and reduction in short and long term plant failures.
* Highly developed skills in developing and delivering innovative and effective solutions.
* Extensive understanding of power station operations and thermal processes.
* Demonstrated knowledge of complex infrastructure and process systems.
* Demonstrated experience coaching and working within site-based teams of varying size.
